Lana Clemenza

Aldwych Theatre
London—2014

Choreographed & directed—Karen Bruce
With Flavia Cacace and Vincent Simone

  • The Times

…The real scene-stealer and near-showstopper is Abbie Osmon, all statuesque curves as a not-so-dumb blonde bombshell-cum-femme fatale. An adept comedian, Osmon transcends cartoon-style parody partly thanks to a voice that slides easily between breathy and belting.

  • The Independent

…There are big numbers for the villainess, too. Osmon’s Lana is a delight: half movie diva, half film noir bad girl, she squeaks “I’m not happy!” as a catchphrase and brings exuberant sass to her showstoppers.

  • What'sOnStage

…..A special mention should here be given to Kempner and his female comedy partner Abbie Osmon, as Lana Clemenza. The pair's comic timing is beyond seamless and Osmon's vocals are to die for.

  • Kyle Pedley

…He is met with a show-stopping turn from Abbie Osmon as sultry villainess Lana Clemenza, who plays out as something akin to Singin’ in the Rain’s Lina Lamont dialled up to 11. It’s a real tour-de-force performance, with Osmon raising the roof courtesy of some truly terrific vocal performances (her ‘That’s Life’ being an obvious highlight)

  • Wales Online

Particular praise must go to Abbie Osmon, who sparkles with stage presence
